Dhoni finishes off in style!
Ravi Shastri uttered his iconic line, “Dhoni finishes off in style! India lifts the World Cup after 28 years!” when Dhoni smashed a six to secure India’s victory. Notably, India’s first World Cup win came in 1983 under Kapil Dev‘s captaincy.
The 2011 final saw several players making crucial contributions. Zaheer Khan and Yuvraj, despite a shaky start to India’s batting innings, bounced back to claim two wickets each with their bowling. Gautam Gambhir displayed exceptional responsibility, building partnerships of 83 runs with Virat Kohli and 109 runs with Dhoni. However, he was unfortunate to be dismissed just three runs short🍬 of a well-deserved century. Dhoni, on the other hand, remained unbeaten on 91 runs, sealing the victory with a final💃 six.
