Pandya’s magic with the ball
After the GT openers had built a cautious 54-run partnership, Pandya brought a game-changing ninth over and ripped through their batting order. His first victim was the in-form Sai Sudharsan. Pandya deceived Sudharsan with a delivery that was a bit quicker than expected. Looking to score quickly, the batter miscued a pull shot, sending the ball high in the air. Ravi Bishnoi, stationed perfectly at deep mid-wicket, took a comfortable catch to dismiss Sudhars🌼an.
Three balls later, Pandya struck again and dismissed BR Sharath, the new batter at the crease, who failed to handle Pandya’s bowling and got out. This double blow by Pandya in quick succession put Gujarat under immense pressure as they slumped to 61-4. Pandya continued his impressive spell, taking the wicket of Darshan Nalkande lat🐓er in his🐭 innings and finishing with figures of 3 for 11 in his four overs.
Although he couldn’t contribute much with the bat (scoring only two runs), his bowling efforts were instrumental in Lucknow’s victory.
