Heinrich Klaasen‘s performance at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) during an Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 match against Mumbai Indians (MI) on Wednesday was truly unforgettable. In a game marked by record-breaking runs, Klaasen’s stunning innings of 80* off just 34 balls provided SRH with an exceptional finish. His remarkable display propelled SRH to a record total of 277 for three in their allotted 20 overs. However, the spotlight wasn’t solely on Heinrich; it was shared with his 14-month-old daughter, Laya, who became the center of attention.
Heinrich Klaasen’s daughter adorable presence
In a heartwarming moment captured in a video shared by the SRH’ social media handle on X, Klaasen’s daughter, accompanied by her mother Sone Martin, was seen proudly donning the SRH jersey. With great enthusiasm, she waved the team’s flag while passionately cheering for her father during his remarkable innings.
“The best seat in the house? Right next to dad’s biggest fan! HK’s little one was all of us today,” the post reads.

Klaasen’s last over destruction
Even the SRH owner, Kavya Maran, couldn’t contain her excitement while witnessing her team’s remarkable batting display, especially by Klaasen.
During the 20th over of the SRH batting, MI bowler Shams Mulani delivered a full toss on the pads to Klaasen. Although Klaasen failed to make clean contact, it momentarily seemed like the deep midwicket fielder had an opportunity. Nevertheless, positioned slightly inside the boundary line, the fielder couldn’t reach the ball. In the next delivery, Klaasen struck the ball powerfully, clearing the long off boundary despite not hitting it cleanly.

Kavya Maran’s enthusiastic support and celebrations
These two shots not only propelled the innings to a score of 277 but also set a new IPL record for the highest team total. Maran’s joy was evident throughout the innings as she displayed a whirlwind of emotions, even celebrating with some energetic moves, including a crossed-X celebration, during the onslaught by Klaasen in the last over.
