Anderson played a crucial role for England with the ball. After missing the first Test, he was included in the playing XI for the remaining four matches. His notable performance came in the third Test in Vizag, where he secured figures of 3/47 and 2/29 in the first and second innings, respectively. Despite Anderson’s efforts, England fell short in the pursuit of 399 runs, losing the game by 106 runs.

The fifth Test in Dharamsala marked a historic moment for Anderson as he achieved his 700th Test wicket by dismissing Kuldeep Yadav. This milestone made him only the third bowler in 𝄹Test cricket history to reach the 700-wicket mark. Notably, Anderson stands alone as the only pacemaker to achieve this remarkable feat in the red-ball format.
