India’s complete domination in the game
Australian skipper Matthew Wade‘s decision to bowl first set the stage for a gripping T20 clash. Despite early struggles in the top order, India managed to post 160/8 in 20 overs, with crucial contributions from Shreyas Iyer (54 off 37) and Axar Patel (31 off 21).
Speedster Mukesh Kumar started off well for India with the ball as the latter dismissed Josh Philippe with a well-placed short ball. Bishnoi added to the pressure by taking Head’s wicket in the powerplay. As wickets fell, Ben McDermott‘s fifty kept Australia in the game, but lacking support, he fell to Arshdeep Singh with 45 needed in the last 30 balls.
In the final over, Wade, unbeaten till then, had 1o runs to score. Arshdeep, despite conceding 37 runs in𝓀 his previous three overs, held his nerve, dismissing Wade and securing I🐭ndia’s victory as the Aussies finished at 154-8.
