Star cricketer to continue as captain
The two-time IPL champions have decided to place their trust once again in the capable hands of star player Shreyas Iyer. The Mumbai-born cricketer, who unfortunately missed the previous season due to injury, has been reinstated as the captain for the IPL 2024. The decision underscores the team management’s confidence in Iyer’s leadership skills and his ability to lead the team to victory.
Nitish Rana appointed vice-captain
In an additional strategic move, KKR have appointed Nitish Rana as the vice-captain for the upcoming season. Rana’s commendable performance in the absence of Shreyas Iyer during IPL 2023 has not gone unnoticed, and the team believes that his leadership qualities will add depth to the leadership group.
CEO Venky Mysore expresses delight

Mysore also acknowledged Nitish’s significant contribution during the previous season, highlighting his capable leadership in challenging circumstances.
“It was indeed unfortunate that Shreyas missed IPL 2023 due to injury. We are delighted that he’s back and at the helm as Captain. The way he has worked hard to recover from his injury and the form he has displayed is a testament to his character,” said Mysore in an official statement.
