However, amidst the flurry of financial activity, former cricketer AB de Villiers weighed in on the proceedings, expressing his opinion on a player from the 🍒PBKS whom he believes may be overpaid.
De Villiers names the overpaid cricketer
De Villiers expressed his opinion that all-rounder Sam Curran has been quite overpaid . He acknowledged that while Curran is not a bad player, he hasn’t performed exceptionally well in the last IPL season and for his national side (England).
“I don’t like to be controversial. But, in my opinion, he’s been overpaid for quite a few years now. He’s not a bad player; I like him. He’s had a fantastic World Cup, but that’s quite a few years back. I don’t think he’s had a very good IPL recently. Also, for England, he hasn’t played exceptionally well,” De Villi🐲ers said during a Q&A session on his YouTube channel.

AB de Villiers on Harshal Patel going to Punjab Kings
De Villiers lauded PBKS’ call to rope in Harshal, stating that he doesn’t ignoring various opinions that the latter is being overpaid. The Pretoria-born cricketer praised the Indian seamer as a fantastic T20 cricketer with excellent abilities and highlighted the effectiveness of his slower deliveries that trouble many batters.
“Harshal going for a pretty nifty ₹11.75 crore. I don’t think that’s being overpaid. He’s a fantastic player. He is a wonderful T20 cricketer. He can also hit the cricket ball. The slower ball that he bowls bamboozles a lot of batters,” the 39-year-old added.
