Devon Conway, Rachin Ravindra, Daryl Mitchell, and Glenn Phillips showcased their batting prowess, contributing crucial runs. Devon Conway top-scored with 45 runs, while Rachin Ravindra played an explosive knock of 42 runs. Daryl Mitchell’s aggressive innings of 43 runs helped New Zealand reach the target comfortably.
Sri Lanka’s bowlers faced a tough challenge defending a modest target. Dilshan Madushanka, who bowled 6.2 overs, went wicketless and conceded 58 runs. Maheesh Theekshana managed to pick up 1 wicket but conceded 43 runs in his 7 overs. Angelo Mathews was the standout performer among the bowlers, taking 2 wickets for 29 runs in his 4 overs. However, it waꦜs not enough to stop New Zealand from clinching victory.
