The Bangladesh Cricket Team have cancelled their♚ scheduled training session in Delhi on Friday because of the severe air pollution in the city.
Bangla Tigers arrived in Delhi on Wednesday to prepare for their upcoming ODI World Cup 2023 match against Sri Lanka, scheduled for November 6. Initially, they had planned🍸 three training sessions at Arun Jaitley Stadium, with the first session set to take place from 6✃ pm to 9 pm on Friday.
Bangladesh team director’s statement
Bangladesh cricket team’s director, Khaled Mahmud, issued a statement on Friday mentioning that their team had to cancel the training session due to worsening air quality of India’s capital city, and they have concerns about some team members developing coughs, which poses a risk. They are uncertain if the situation will improve but are determined to have a productive training session tomorrow to ensure all players are fit for the crucial game on November 6.
“We actually had a training session today, but due to worsening conditions, we didn’t take the chance. We have two more training days. Some of us developed coughing, so there’s a risk factor. We don’t want to get sick. We don’t know if things will improve, but we have training tomorrow. We want all the players to be fit for the important game coming up on November 6,” said Mahmud.
