“Karunaratne, who has played 23 ODIs, was named as a replacement after Shanaka was ruled out due to a right thigh muscle injury sustained during Sri Lanka’s match against Pakistan on 10th October. The injury needs three weeks to recover,” said the IC﷽C in its official statement after the Technical Committee approved a change in the Sri Lankan sq♏uad.

Kusal Mendis to lead Sri Lanka in remaining matches
Kusal Mendis, who has been leading tꦺhe Sri Lanka side from the front with the bat, will now have to take the captaincy charge immediately and lead the team with determination and skill.
