On being asked about the ‘ Dark Horse’ of the CWC 2023, the Kandy-born cricketer named Temba Bavuma-led South Africa, sighting their pܫerf✅ormance as the reason behind it.

‘I think this year South Africa will be the Dark horse as they’ve started playing well’ the 51-year-old mentioned.

It is worth noting that South Africa kicked off their ODI World Cup 2023 campaign in a stunning fashion, marking a mammoth 102-run victory over Dasun Shanaka-led Sri Lanka on October 7.

The Proteas’ batting order outclassed the Lankan bowling attack as Quinton De Kock (100) and Rassie van der Dussen (108) played centurion knocks alongside Aiden Markram, who thumpe😼d u💃p 106 runs, marking the fastest century in the ODI World Cup history (49 balls).
