The Asia Cup 2023 was anticipated to be a cricketing spectacle, especially when arch-rivals India and Pakistan were set to face off. However, the cricketing gods had other plans, as the much-anticipated clash was called off due to relentlesꩵs rain. While the cancellation left many fans disappointed, a heartwarming incident from the match day has now taken the internet by storm where a Pakistani fangirl unabashedly expressed her admiration for India’s batting maestro, Virat Kohli.
It is worth mentioning that Virat failed to make an impact in the clash and was dismissed for four runs in the contest. The right-handed batter fell victim to Shaheen Shah Afridi in the eventually abandoned match.
Pakistani fangirl’s admiration for Virat Kohli and a touching response to denigrator
In a video that has gone viral, the Pakistani girl can be seen interacting with a reporter on the match day. She admitted being a Pakistani proudly but expressed a deep admiration for Kohli. She started by saying that she came all the way to watch Virat play and was expecting a century from the latter’s bat.
“I came all the way to see Virat Kohli; he’s my favorite. I wanted to see him score a century… But I’m heartbroken,” she exclaimed.

As the young fan expressed her feelings, she was inter⛄rupted by a man standing behind her. His attempt to question her choice of supporting a rival player was met with an epic response from the spirited fangirl.
“Chacha, padosiyon se pyaar karna koi buri baat toh nahi hai, (Uncle, it’s not a bad thing to love your neighbours),” she replied gracefully.
Towards the end of her interview, the reporter asked her to choose between Virat and Pakistan’s own Babar Azam, and she unapologetically picked the former as her favourite. Her choice was met with great disapproval by the crowd as they chanted ‘very bad, very bad’.
