In the opening ODI of the much-anticipated three-match series between India and Australia, currently taking 🅰place at the Punjab Cricket Association IS Bindr🦩a Stadium in Mohali, fans witnessed a spectacular display of cricketing action. Amidst a series of notable moments, one instance stood out for its sheer brilliance – Suryakumar Yadav‘s sharp run-out of Cameron Green.
The day began with India, led by stand-in captain KL Rahul, winning the toss and opting to field first. Australia faced an early setback when opener Mitchell Marsh fell victim to Mohammed Shami‘s impressive bowling skills in the very first over.
Despite the initial setback, Australia managed to recover thanks to the partnership of David Warner (52) and Steve Smith (41), who combined forces to add 94 crucial runs for the second wicket. Their partnership instilled hope in the Australian camp. However, the momentum shifted in favor of India when the all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja dismissed Warner, and Shami bowled out Smith, denting Australia’s hopes significantly.

Suryakumar Yadav shows a brilliant presence of mind
Marnus Labuschagne, who had been performing well, got stumped for 39 runs. This unfortunate dismissal gave Ravichandran Ashwin his first ODI wicket in 20 months. The Australian team then relied on the partnership of Green and Josh Inglis. However, in th𝓡e 40th over, a miscommunication between the two proved costly. An easy catch was fumbled by Rahul, causing the ball to roll away to the third man. Seizing the opportunity, Green took a single and attempted a second run.
Suryakumar, fielding at mid-o꧒n, demonstrated extraordinary presence of mind and lightning-quick reflexes. He sprinted towards the ball, collected it with precision, and, in one fluid motion, threw it at the stumps, executing a brilliant run-out. This swift action left Green short of the crease, and the stadium erupted in cheers.
