India Outshines Sri Lanka
Regarding the match, India got off to a strong start, with Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill forging an impressive opening partnership of 80 runs. However, as the spinners took control of the proceedings, India’s batting order dramatically collapsed. Indian skipper contributed significantly with a crucial innings of 56 runs. The rest of the batting lineup failed to make an impact, as the team got all out on 213.
The 20-year-old Dunith Wellalage emerged as the standout performer for the Islanders. The young sensation showcased his talent with the ball, securing his maiden ༒five-wicket haul in ODIs, with figures of 5/40.
Defending the low total, the Indian side made a stunning start with the ball as Jasprit Bumrah (2/30) and Mohammed Siraj (1/17) gave the opponents early hiccups.
