However, the match was also marred by a controversial dismissal involving Australia’s explosive batter, Tim David.

At first glance, it appeared that Fortuin had taken an incredible low catch. The decision was then referred to the third umpire for review after replays suggested that the ball may have touched the ground. After a lengthy review process, to the surprise of many viewers, the third umpire ruled D♌avid out, further fueling controversy.
Cricket fans didn’t hesitate to express their dissatisfaction with the decision made by the officials. Unfortunately, Australia couldn’t bounce back from this setback and was eventually bowled out for 227, with 15 overs still remaining in the game.
