In a significant announcement, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) unveiled India’s squad for the upcoming three-match ODI series against Australia. The revelation on Monday, September 18, brought about the return of veteran off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin to the ODI squad. Ashwin’s inclusion marks his comeback to the 50-over format after his last appearance against South Africa in January 2022.
However, the team for the first two ODIs has seen some key senior players being rested, including the likes of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma.
KL Rahul will take charge as t🔯he captain for these initial matches.
Earlier, on Sunday, Australia named their ODI sq🦩uad for the India tour. Regular skipper Pat Cummins, Steve Smith, Glenn Maxwell and Mitchell Starc who did n🌟ot participate in the limited-overs leg against the Proteas in South Africa have been recal⭕led for the ODI series against India.

The ODI rubber between India and Australia is sc🍃heduled to commence on Friday, September 22, with the first match taking place at the Punjab Cricket Association IS Bindra Stadium in Mohali. The second game will be hosted at the Holkar Cricket Stadium in Indore on September 24, while the third and final ODI is set for September 27 at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Rajkot.
