In a one-sided final clash at the R.Premadasa Stadium, India produced a clinical performance to decimate Sri Lanka and claim their 8th Asia Cup title in style. It was a day to forget for Sri Lanka 🍒as they were bundled out for a mere 50 runs, setting up an easy target for India.
Sri Lanka won the toss and elected to bat first, a decision they would soon regret. Their innings turned into a nightmare as Indian bowlers led by Mohammed Siraj wreaked havoc. Siraj was the standout performer with the ball, scalping an incredible 6 wickets for just 21 runs in his 7-over spell. He was well supported by Jasprit Bumrah and Hardik Pandya, who chipped in 2 and 3 wickets respectively.
A 10-wicket victory for Team India
Chasing a modest target of 51 runs, the Indian openers, Ishan Kishan and Shubman Gill, displayed composure and confidence. They ꦿreached the target comfortably in just 6.1 overs without losing a wicket. Kishan contributed 23 runs, while Shubman scored 27 runs, guiding India to a resounding 10-wicket victory.

India’s victory also set a new record for the biggest win in an ODI final in terms of balls remaining, with 263 balls left in their innings, surpassing the previous record of 226 balls.
