Former Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir has opened up on the workload management of Jasprit Bumrah amid the ongoing Asia Cup 2023. The veteran cricketer expressed that Bumrah should get the most possible amount of game time to prepare himself for the upcoming ICC ODI World Cup 2023, as he is back on the groun🗹d after 🔴a significant amount of time.
‘Workload management is finished now’
During a discussion on Star Sports, Gambhir said, “Workload management is finished now. You are at a stage now where instead of workload management, you will think about more game time and bowling as much as possible, because you have the Asia Cup, then three matches against Australia, and then straightaway the World Cup.”
“The World Cup comes once in four years and no one knows what will happen after four years, the fitness and rhythm a fast bowler will have after four years. I believe the more games he plays, the better he will get. The Indian team shouldn’t start giving him breaks now,” he added.
India will kick off their Asia Cup 2023 campaign against Pakistan on Saturday (S🌠eptember 2) at Pallekeꦕle.

The 29-year-old right-arm pacer has a stunning ODI record, picking up 121 wickets in 72 matches with a tremendous economy of 4.64.
The ICC Men’s ODI World Cup 2023 is scheduled to start on October 5. Bumrah’s presence is pivotal for the Indian side hosting the World Cup. India will face Australia in their first game of WC 2023 on October 8.
