In a surprising turn of events, the cricket community was met with conflicting reports surrounding the alleged passing of Heath Streak, the former Zimbab𒁃we cricket captain, and an iconic figure in the sport.

A legendary career with so many achievements
Streak, who captained Zimbabwe from 2000 to 2004, boasts an impressive cricketing career. With 65 Test matches and 189 One Day International🦋s (ODIs) under his belt, Streak remains the sole player from Zimbabwe to have claimed 100 Test wickets.
His retirement from international cricket in 2005 saw him transition into the role of Warwickshire’s captain in 2006. Streak also made an appearance in the Indian Cricket League (ICL) in 2007. Streak’s cricketing prowess extended into coaching, with roles in Zimbabwe, Scotland, Bangladesh, Gujarat Lions, and Kolkata Knight Riders.
However, Streak’s career encountered a dark chapter when he faced an eight-year ban from all forms of cricket due to violations of the International Cricket Council’s (ICC) Anti-Corruption Code. Despite this setback, the tribunal hearing acknowledged that Streak’s actions did not influence the outcome of the matches in question. He is set to become eligible to resume his involvement in cricket on March 28, 2029.
