American golfer, Brian Harman created history by emerging victorious in the prestigious Open Championship at Royal Liverpool Golf Club on Sunday (July 23). However, more than Harman’s iconic feat, it was his uncanny resemblance with Australian cricketing legend Ricky Ponting that garnered the attention of sports enthusiasts. Many fans were even hea🎃rd chanting Ponting’s name when Harman was playing at the Royal L🍰iverpool Golf Club.
The official Twitter handle of The Open also posted pictures of Ponting and Harman𓂃. The tweet quickly went viral on the internet, and netizens soon flooded social media with comparison posts, terming Haꦑrman Ponting’s doppelganger.

Harman himself also talked about the similarities between him and the former Aussie captain, admitting that he looks like Ponting. He even hailed the veteran cricketer as a ꦗhandsome 𒀰guy.
“Yeah, I hear a lot of ‘Ricky, Ricky’ out there. Yeah I look like him–handsome fella,” said Harman during his post-round conference.
The Delhi Capitals (DC) franchise from the Indian Premier League (IPL) joined the trend as well and came up with a hilarious post on Twitter, sharing a collage of Pontin💛g and Harman.
