England have named their squad for the fifth and final Test of the five-match Ashes series against Australia, with seamer James Anderson retaining his place even after struggling for wickets in the rꦓecent games.
The fifth Test willඣ be played at tꦐhe Kennington Oval in London from July 27.
Due to rain, no play was possible on the final day of the fourth Test between Australia and England at Old Trafford on Sunday, resulting in Australia retainiꦰng the Ashes.
England, who were in a favourable position with Australia at 214-5 and trailing by 61 runs, had high hopes of winning the fou🧔rth Test and claiming the urn back. However, their aspirations were dashed due to the weather conditions.

England can now only draw the series and keep their streak of not losing Ashes at their home in more than two decades alive. They will be pushing for a 2-2 draw when the fifth Test begin in London and end the serieꦛs on a high.
“We have got one game left and we want to go out with a win and draw the series, like in 2019. We know what this last game means to us as a team. We have been supported well and hope the crowd come out again and we win,” England captain Ben Stokes was quoted as saying to Sky Sports.
