For the much-anticipated Ashes 2023, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has unveiled a 16-member squad specifically chosen for the first two Tests. Staying consistent with their decision, the selection panel has opted to maintain an unchanged lineup from the ongoing One-off Test currently taking place at Lord’s in London against Ireland.

Notably, following the completion of the solitary Test against Ireland, the Eꦍnglish team will make their way to Birmingham on Monday, June 12th. Upon arrival at the location, the team will commence their practice sessions at Edg💝baston, starting from Tuesday, June 13th.

It is worth mentioning that James Anderson, the experienced fast bowler, has been included in the team despite recently suffering a ‘mild strain’ to his right groin. However, during the One-off Test against Ireland, the ECB made a conscious decision not to risk the seasoned paceman’s participation. Instead, he was given the opportunity to fully recover and prepare for the important English summer ahead. As a result, Anderson remained on the sidelines during the match.

Ben Stokes will continue to lead the side with Ollie Pope serving as the vice-captain. Josh Tongue, who recently made his international debut against Ireland, has been retained in the bowling lineup. He will join the likes of Stuart Broad, Matthew Potts, Anderson, Ollie Robinson, Chris Woakes, Mark Wood, and spinner Jack Leach. However, Ben Foakes has ꧂once a🌞gain been overlooked by the selectors and will remain on the sidelines.

England squad for first two Ashes Tests: Ben Stokes (captain), James Anderson, Jonathan🌟 Bairstow, Stuart Broad, Harry Brook, Zak Crawley, Ben Duckett, Dan Lawrence, Jack Leach, Ollie Pope, Matthew Potts, Ollie Robinson, Joe Root, Chris W🌳oakes, Mark Wood, Josh Tongue.
