In a high-stakes encounter at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Gujarat Titans (GT) defeated Mumbai Indians (MI) in the Qualifier 2 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023. Titans emerged victorious by a commanding margin of 62 runs and marched into the final where they will face Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on May 28.
Put in to bat, the Titans put up a mammoth total of 233 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Shubman Gill showcased his brilliance with an exceptional knock of 129 runs off just 60 deliveries, including 7 fours and a staggering 10 sixes. Gill received support from Sai Sudharsan, who contributed a valuable 43 runs off 31 balls. Captain Hardik Pandya‘s quickfire 28 off 13 deliveries further propelled the Titans to their imposing total.
In pursuit of the target, Mumbai struggled to gain momentum as their batting lineup faltered, and were eventually bowled out for 171 runs in 18.2 overs, falling short by 62 runs. Suryakumar Yadav fought valiantly, scoring a well-crafted 61 runs off 38 balls, while Cameron Green and ܫTilak Varma made useful contributions of 30 and 43 runs respectively.
The Titans’ bowlers put up an impressive display, led by Mohit Sharma, who claimed an incredible five-wicket haul for just 10 runs in 2.2 overs. Rashid Khan and Mohammed Shami also made crucial breakthroughs, taking 2 wickets each, while Josh Little chipped in with a wicket.

Another example of Never Give Up- Mohit Sharma. Was not in the fray last few seasons a𒁏nd a net bowler for GT last season. But in just 13 matches, 24 wickets this season is a champion performance. Top 3 wicket takers all from Gujarat and they so deserve to make it to the finals.…
