Fixtures of New Zealand tour of Sri Lanka announced

The national Women’s team of New Zealand are set to tour Sri Lanka ไduring June–July 2023 for the One-Day In🐻ternational (ODI) and T20 International (T20I) series. The itinerary for the same was officially announced by Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) on Thursday, May 18.

The ODI series, which will be a part of the ICC Women’s Championship, is scheduled to begin on June 27. Notably, the White Ferns will arrive in Sri Lanka on June 23. The iconic Galle International Cricket Stadium will host all three ODIs.

In the ICC Women’s Championship standings, New Zealand currently holds the third position, while Sri Lanka, the host team, sits at seventh place. If Sri Lanka manages to sweep the series, they will have an opportunity to elevate their position to second place with a total of 11 points.

Post the 50-over battle, both sides will meet in a three-match T20I series. However, ahead of the T20I leg, the touring party will play a practice T20 game against Sri Lanka Board President’s XI on July 6. The T20I series will begin on July 8, and all matches will take place at P.Sara Oval in Colombo.

  • July 8: First T20I: P.Sara Oval, Colombo
  • July 10: Second T20I: P.Sara Oval, Colombo
  • July 12: Third T20I: P.Sara Oval, Colombo
