Ireland are all ready to host Bangladesh in the upcoming three-match One-Day International (ODI) series, starting May 09 at County Ground in Chelmsford.
The hosts are boosted by the return of their frontline pacer Joshua Little, who has received permission from his Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Gujarat Titans (GT),💜 to take a short break from the ongoing season f🥂or the ODI leg. Little has taken six wickets from eight matches in his maiden appearance at the IPL this year.
Notably, this series is extremely important for both Ireland and South Africa as ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Super League points are up for grabs. The Irish side is currently placed 11th in the standings with 68 points, but three wins over Bangladesh will see them drawing level with South Africa on 98 points.
However, bagging three victories may still need to prove more for Ireland, and they need to ensure a better net run rate to confirm their spot in the ODI World Cup, sc༺heduled to ta🐼ke place in India later this year.
Bangladesh, on the other hand, are sitting in fourth place on the Super League standings and have already booked their place at this year’s global showpiece event.
