Sunil Philip Narine was born on 26 May 1988 in Trinidad and Tobago.
His father named him Sunil, inspired by the legendary Indian batter Sunil Gavaskar.
Narine was the best friend of Kevon Cooper at school, and it was due to him only that Kevon’s interest diverted from foot♚bal🦂l to cricket.
He made his debut in first-class cricket for Trinidad and Tobago in February 2009 and his List A debut on October 2011 in the Regio🥃nal Super50.
Meanwhile, Narine’s firstꦐ appearance for West Indies in One Day International (ODI) and Test cric🦄ket came in December 2011 and June 2012, respectively.
Notably, India’s star batter Virat Kohli was his first ODI wicket.
He got his maiden T20I cap on 27 March 2012.
Narine also won the I෴CC Emerging Player of the Year award in 2012.
The off-spinner has the ab♏ili🃏ty to bowl six different variations in a single over.
He was roped in by the Kolkata Knight Riders franchise♈ for $700,000 the same year and went on to ൩become the player of the tournament with 24 wickets in that season.
Narine tied the knot with Nandita Kumar through Indian wedding rituals in 2013.
Narine is the only bowler in T20 cricket history to bowl a maiden in a supe👍r over. He achieved the feat against Trinidad & Tobago Red Steel in CPL 2014.
Narine was also ꦍpart of the 2016 T20 World Cup winning squad of West Indies.
He won the MPV award for the꧂ second time in the 2018 IPL. He took 1✨7 wickets along with 357 runs in 16 matches.
Narine has been part of the Kolkata-ba🐷sed franchise since his IPL debut and hasn’t switched to any other team so far.
