The long-awaited arrival of the Indian Premier League (IPL) game in Assam finally ended with the high-profile contest between Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Punjab Kings (PBKS༺) on Wednesday.
Rajasthan’s skipper Sanju Samson won the toss and asked the troops of Shikhar Dhawan to bat. The PBKS openers welcomed the decision with both hands, taking Punjab to a flyer. Dhawan and Prabhsimran Singh began the innings aggressively, with Prabhsimran, in particular, being the majorꦕ contributor.
The explosive wicketkeeper-batter left no stone unturned to dominate right from th🐟e word go. Prabhsimran went on to form a scintillating 90 runs partnership for the opening wicket with skipper Dhawan. The right-handed batter smashed 60 from just 34 deliveries, with the help of 7 fours and three humungous sixes.
The way Prabhsimran was punishing RR bowlers, it appeared as if nobody could stop him. However, RR’s crisis man Jos Buttler plucked an absolute screamer to end Prabhsimran’s jaw-dropping innings. It all happened during the 10th over bowled by Jason Holder when the PBKS opener tried to smash a slower delivery but ended up sꦚlicing it in the a🐈ir.
For a moment, it seemed the white leather would land in no man’s land, but Buttler had some other plans as he stormed in from long-off and covered a lot of ground before diving in front to take a spectacular catch.
