South African superstar and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) skipper Aiden Markram had a disappointing outing with the bat on his captaincy debut in the Indian Premier League (IPL) as he departed for a golden duck agains𝄹t Lucknow Super Giants (LS🎉G) on Friday, April 7.
Having scored a magnificent 175-run knock against the Netherlands before the IPL 2023, Markram was looking forward to continuing his impressive form. However, in the 8th over of SRH’s innings, the batter was cleaned up by Krunal Pandya.

Markram’s choice to bat first after winning the toss didn’t go as planned because the LSG spinners Pandya and Ravi Bishnoi tore through SRH’s top order. Krunal removed Mayank Agarwal (8), Anmolpreet Singh (31), and Markram (0), while Bishnoi’s dismissal of Harr🐎y Brook was a crucial blow that disrupted SRH’s innings in the 9th over.
Rahul Tripathi, however, stayed a bit long to build a much-needed partnership for the Sunrisers. He added 39 runs for the fifth wicket with Washington Sundar and took the team’s total near 100. LSG bowlers, then, again came back and bagged some wickets in quick succession. Abdul Samad, withꦍ two sixes in the final over, provided someဣ late fireworks to take SRH’s total to 121/8.
