In the second match of Saturday’s doubleheader at Wankhede Stadium, Punjab Kings (PBKS) secured a last-over thrilling wꦫin over Mumbai Indians🎃 (MI).
Asked to bat first, Punjab got off to a decent start with openers Matthew Short and Prabhsimran Singh putting up 37 runs in the powerplay. However, PBKS lost wickets at regular intervals but kept the scoreboard ticking thanks to quickfire knocks from Atharva Taide, Harpreet Singh, and Sam Curran.
Captain Curran’s explosive 55 off just 29 deliveries propelled Punjab Kings to a mammoth total of 214/8 in their 20 overs. For Mumbai Indians, Cameron Green was the pick of the b🧸owlers, taking 2 wickets for 41 ꦿruns in his four overs.
In reply, Mumbai got off to a shaky start, losing opener Ishan Kishan for just a solitary run. However, skipper Rohit Sharma and Green steadied the innings with a partnership of 82 runs. Suryakumar Yadav continued the momentum with a quickfire 57 off just 26 deliveries, but he didn’t get much support from the other end as wickets kept falling at crucial junctures.
Despite a late cameo from Tim David, who scored 25 off 13 balls, Mumbai fell short of the target by 13 runs, finishing their innings at 201/6 in 20 overs. Arshdeep Singh was t💃he star performer for Punjab Kings, picking up f♋our wickets for 29 runs in his four overs.

A total of 214 with a top score of 55 was brilliant from in that everyone contributed and got going. 96 from 5 at the end the clincher. And surely, Arshdeep is the best death bowler in the league. So calm, so relaxed….and so skilful with yorkers
