In the 35th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023, Gujarat Titans (GT) completely dominated the proceedings and handed Mumbai Indians (MI) their fourth defeat at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
Put in to bat, Gujarat kicked off their innings strongly, with Shubman Gill leading the charge with a half-century off just 34 deliveries. Contributions from David Miller (46 off 22) and Abhinav Manohar (42 off 21) helped the defending champions reach an imposing tꦐotal of 207 for the loss of six wickets in their 20 overs.
Veteran leg-spinner Piyush Chawla wa♎s the pick of the bowlers for Mumbai with figures of 2 wickets for 34 runs in his quota of four overs.
In response, Mumbai struggled to get going with the bat, losing wickets at regular intervals. Cameron Green (33 off 26) and Nehal Wadhera (40 off 21) tried to resurrect the innings, but it wasn’t enough as Mumbai were bowled out for just 152 in 20 overs, losing the contest by 55 runs.
Afghanistan spin sensation Noor Ahmad was the standout bowler for Gujarat Titans, taking three wickets for 37 runs in his four overs. His countryman Rashid Khan bagged two scalps while medium-pacer Mohit Sharma too picked up a couple.

Bowling from GT has been top quality with the dew coming in. Spinner were solid no doubt but how good was the n𒈔ew ball spell from Hardik and Shami 👏

What a dream sight for AFGHANISTAN! 📷📷
Absolutely two different type 𒉰of leg-spinners Rash🍨id Khan & Noor Ahmad wrecked down the Mumbai Indias top-order. They are now in BIG trouble with 90/6.

Batting at number 9. Below Piyush Chawla. Yet to bowl his full quota of overs iౠn a game. If you think he is w𓆏orth his place, then at least give him a full go. I almost feel sorry for the five time champions.

Chen🍸nai Super Kings &🐻; Gujarat Titans are the only teams to have 10 points after the 1st half of the league stage.

Afghnistan's 18-year-old Noor Ahmed. Three important wickets- Tim David, Suryakumar Yadav and Cameron Green. Gujarat Titans have surely hit a gold mine in him. Add Rashid Khan and you have a fantastic spin bowling attack.

Highest economy-rate for MI in an innings
(min: 2 overs)19.50 – Cameron Green v GT, today
18.00 – Tymal Mills v LSG, 2022
17.66 – Alzarri Joseph v RR, 2019Mumbai Indians bought Cameron Green at ₹17.5 crore – the second most expensive player for any team in IPL history.

With Noor Ahmad's inclusion, Gujarat have zero weak links in their bowling now. Which might mean teams will attack Rashid even more making him further effective.
There🎃 is no way GT is not making the playoꦺffs as a Top 2 team.
