March 13 turned out to be a historic day for India in both the cinema and sports departments as they won two Oscars at the 95th Academy Awards and also reached the World Test Championship (WTC) 2023 final by clinching the Border Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) 2023 from the Australian team.
The fourth Test between India and Australia in Ahmedabad ended in a draw, with the hosts finishing the series 2-1 and successfully defending the title. Following the draw in the final Test and New Zealand’s thrilling win over Sri Lanka, India🍒 cemented their spot in the finals of the WTC 2023, where they will 𝓀be up against the same opponent Australia at the Oval in the United Kingdom.
On the other hand, before the Indian cricket team’s qualification, the citizens also celebrated the nation’s Oscar win in two categories. While SS Rajamouli’s RRR won the Academy Award 2023 in the Best Song category, The Elephant Whisperers won Best Documentary Short Subject.
To celebrate the achievement, legendary Sunil Gavaskar danced to the Oscar-winning ‘Naatu Naatu’ song from RRR and invited Australia’s veteran opener Matthew Hayden to shake his legs on the track as well. Popular TV presenter and commentator Jatin Sapru was also seen accompanying the two legends.
Star Sports’ official Twitter handle posted the video of the same and captioned it, “WTC Final mein pravesh karein, toh jashn world-class banta hai! ( A world-class celebration is must, when you reach the WTC finals) #SunilGavaskar, @HaydosTweets, @imAagarkar, #SanjayBangar & @jatinsapru ne manaya Oscar ki jeet aur WTC qualification dono ka jashn! Mubarak ho @ssrajamouli @tarak9999 @AlwaysRamCharan & #MMKeeravani”

It is for the second time that India has made it to the finals of the WTC. Notably, they played the last final of the event against eventual champions New Zealand at the Lords in 2021. On the other hand, Indian players will next be seen in action in the upcoming IPL 2023, which starts from March 31.
