The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 kicked off with a bang on Friday, March 31, as fans eagerly anticipated the much-awaited opening ceremony held at the Narendra Modi Stadiuꦆm in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.

The event was marked by electrifying performances by celebrities, including Tamannaah Bhatia and Rashmika Mandanna, both well-known actresses, and singer Arijit Singh.

Arijit added a touch of music to the opening ceremony with his soothing voice and wowed the audience with some of his hit songs, including ‘Kesariya’ from the movie ‘Brahmastra.’ His performance was one of the highlights of the evening.

Tamannaah, known for her role in the movie ‘Baahubali,’ delivered a unique performance that paid tribute to all the Indian states and IPL teams. She performed on various songs in different languages, including Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Gujarati. For the performance, Tamannaah wore a stunning shimmery silver catsuit, designed by the popular Falguni Shane Peacock. The 33-year-old actress stunned the audience with her mesmerising performance and set the stage on fire.

Another South Indian actress, Rashmika, who rose to fame with the movie ‘Pushpa: The Rise,’ also delivered an enthralling performance. The audience was captivated by her moves and grooves, making it a memorable evening for all.

Meanwhile, the 16th season of the IPL began with a clash of heavyweight Chennai Super Kings (CSK), led by MS Dhoni, and defending champions Gujarat Titans, captained by Hardik Pandya. The ☂match started after the opening ceremony, with GT 𒊎winning the toss and electing to bowl first.
