In the final match of the SA20 tournament, the Pretoria Capitals took on the Sunrisers Eastern Cape at The Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg on Sunday, February 12. The✃ Sunrisers won the toss and elected to bowlꦫ first.
The Capitals were just able to muster 135 runs before being bundled out in 19.3 overs. Kusal Mendis (21 off 19) was the only batter to cross the twenty-figure mark. Roelof van der Merwe was the standout bowler for the Sunrisers, taking 4 wickets and concedi🐽ng 31 runs.
In response, the Sunrisers made a strong start with Adam Rossington scoring 57 runs off 30 balls. Despite some hiccups in the middle, the Aiden Markram-led side was able to reach the target with 22 balls to spare and four wickets in hands. Thanks to all-rounder Marco Jansen who hit the winning runs with a four and a six on successive deliveri🌌es.
With this victory, Sunrisers became 🌼the champions of the inaugural SA20 tournament.
