In the 12th match of the ongoing SA20 2023, the 🧔Sunrisers Eastern Cape pulled off a thrilling victory as they chased down a challenging target of 172 against a top-quality MI Cape Town at Newlands stadium on Wednesday.
The Sunrisers lost half of their side before even reaching the 100-run mark, but they still managed to register a victory thanks to a blistering knock by Marco Jansen, who smashed a quickfire 27-ball 66 laced up with three fours and se𝓡ven stylish🌟 sixes.
During Jansen’s spellbinding knock, he took ace spinner Rashid Khan to the cleaners, hitting the Afghanistan star for 28 runs in a single over. One of Jansen’s boundaries off Sam Curran flew straight to the cow-corner near the deep mid-wicket region, where the two fielders scrambled but couldn’t save it.
However, during that process, one of the fielders collided with Zainab Abbas, and the Pakistan sports anchors ended up falling to the ground. Zainab was standing near the boundary rope and interviewing a member of the coaching staff at the time of the incident. As the ball was flying through the air, she was heard saying, “the ball is coming straight at us….”
But little did she know the fielder dived and slid to save the ball before bumping into Zainab’s legs as the presenter tumbled to the floor. Fortunately, she quickly rose to her feet and confirmed that she was completely fine.
Here is the video:

Soon after the incident, Zainab reacted on social media. She took to her official Twitter handle and wrote: “I’ve survived, but now I know how it feels! (Tears of Joy emoji) get that ice pack out ..”.

Notably, it was only the second win for the Sunrisers in the ongoing season. They are positioned at the second last spot in the team standings, headed by Pretoria Capitals.
