BCCI, the board that governs Indian Cricket, is the richest among all others and pays its players a heavy amount each year. Apart from this, the players also bag huge paychecks from the IPL franchises and through brand endorsements.
On that note, today, let’s have a look at seven Indian cricketers who recently bought luxurious cars:
1. Rohit Sharma – Lamborghini Urus
Rohit Sharma’s 2022 might not have been a good cricketing year, but the Indian opener didn’t shy away from spending a hefty amount to add a beast in his car garage. He last year bought a Lamborghini Urus worth ₹ 3.5 crore.
Rohit, in IPL, leads Mumbai Indians and has won five titles for his team. He also captained Team India in the 2022 T20I World Cup, and his annual income is approximately ₹ 16 crore.
2. Shreyas Iyer – Mercedes AMG 63
Shreyas Iyer had a fabulous 2022. He ended the year on a very high note and was the leading run scorer for India across all formats. Kolkata Knight Riders signed the 28-year-old for a whopping ₹12.25 crore in the 2022 IPL mega-auction.
Iyer, who has great love for cars, bought a Mercedes AMG-63 car worth ₹2.45 crore in June 2022. He 💧also ⛦shared the photo of his luxurious car on social media.
3. Suryakumar Yadav – Mercedes GLS 20
Suryakumar Yadav, who had an amazing run last year and was the highest run-getter for India in the T20I’s, rewarded himself in style with a Mercedes GLS 20 worth ₹1.5 crore.
In 2022, Yadav scored 1164 runs in the shortest format. He represents Mumbai Indians in the IPL and receives a salary of ₹8 crores yearly.
4. Smriti Mandhana – Range rover
Smriti Mandhana, the southpaw opener of the Indian women’s cricket team, also had a great 2022. She recently bought a Range Rover worth ₹72 lakh.
Mandhana is currently under ‘A’ category contract of the BCCI. She also endorses popular brands like Hero Motocorp, Boost, Hyundai etc.
5. Ajinkya Rahane – BMW 6 series
Ajinkya Rahane bought a BMW 6 series car worth ₹69.9 lakh in May 2022. In the 2023 IPL mini-auction, he was signed up by the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) for ₹50 lakhs.
6. MS Dhoni – Kia EV6
Former Indian skipper MS Dhoni may be fond of bikes, but his love for cars is also not less. Last year, he added a new SUV Kia EV6 car to his collection and was al🃏so seen taking Kedar Jadhav and Ruturaj Gaikwad for a drive in the newly bought car.
The SUV is worth ₹59.95 lakh.
7. Shikhar Dhawan – BMW M8 Coupe
Out of favour, India opener Shikhar Dhawan has a great interest in luxury cars. The Delhi cricketer added a BMW M8 Coupe to his garage and shared a couple of snaps posing with the brand-new car on social media. The car bought by Dhawan is of metallic black s♐hade and costs nearly 2 crore rupees.
The left-handed batter in the 2022 IPL mega auction was roped in by the Punjab Kings for a whopping ₹8.25 crore.
