Former India skipper Virat Kohli was taken aback after Litton Das plucked an absolute blinder in the ongoing first ODI of the three-match series at Sher-e-Bangla 💃Stadium 𓆏in Dhaka.
Notably, it was the return of Kohli to international cricket as he didn’t take part in the recently-concluded ODI and T20I series in New Zealand. The Delhi-born cricketer had a challenging task when he walked in the middle as the Men in Blue had lost two quick wickets in the form of both openers Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan in quick succession.
Kohli began his knock with a four but couldn’t carry on long enough as Bangladesh’s stand-in captain took a sensational catch. It all happened during the fourth ball of the 11th over bowled by veteran Shakib Al Hasan, who had already picked up Rohit’s wicket in the same over.
Shakib bowled full and wide of off stump, and Kohli went hard on the drive with one hand. The Indian superstar got deceived in flight; therefore, he had no control over the shot, and Das dived full length to his right to p𝓡luck the white leather out of the air, leaving Kohli shell-shocked.

Earlier, Bangladesh won the toss and opted to ball first. India made a few changes, giving opportunities to all-rounders like Washington Sundar, Shahbaz Ahmed, Deepak Chahar and Shardul Thakur. The tourists also gave a debut cap to Kuldeep Sen.
“To be honest, I was not sure. The pitch seems to have some moisture, so we would have bowled first, too. Some injuries and a few issues, we got four all-rounders playing. Washington, Shardul, Shabaz, Deepak Chahar. Kuldeep Sen is making his debut. Myself, Shikhar and Virat up the order. KL Rahul will keep wickets. We hardly played many games in New Zealand, but we fought well. Some of the guys batted really well. World Cup is still far away, we don’t want to look too far ahead. We want to focus on what we have in hand and play accordingly,” said India skipper Rohit Sharma at the toss.
