In the first ODI of the ongoing three-match series between Australia and England, the home team registered a comfo🎃rtable six-wicket victory against the tourists at Adelaide Oval on Thursday.
Dawid Malan scored an impressive 134 off 128 balls and took England’s total to 287-9 after being put in to bat first.
In reply, Travis Head scored 69, David Warner smashed 86 off 84 balls and former Australia skipper 💎Steve Smith hit an unbeaten 80, guidinꦐg their team ov𓆉er the finish line with 19 balls remaining.
Cameron Green, who remained not out on 20 off 28 balls, played a few aggressive shots and was playfully sledged by England captain and wicket-keeper Jos Buttler. It all happened during the 41st over of the second innings, when Buttler chirped to the bowler Liam Dawson, ‘chasing the ink, big auction coming up’ referring to the mini-auction for IPL 2023 next month.

Green’s power-hitting prowess and his genuine pace with the ball is likely to have franchises bidding for him aggressively as he has decided to enter the IPL auction scheduled to be held in Kochi on December 23.
India off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin had also commented a few weeks back that some team owners ⭕could break the bank forཧ the Aussie all-rounder.
“Just when everyone thought how he [Green] would do in the one-day format, he is showing his big-hitting prowess. He is striking them big. He has his sweep shot against the spinners. He has the long hits as well. He is a tall fast bowler too,” explained Ashwin on his YouTube channel.
The Chennai stalwart added: “Some teams (in IPL) might think of using him in the powerplay and might go after him in this year’s auctions unless and until he pulls out. I am sure some team will break the bank for him in this year’s auction.
