England defeated Pakistan in a thrilling T20 World Cup 2022 final at the Melbourne 🔯Cr♏icket Ground to bag their second World T20 title on Sunday.
Six years after heartbreak in Kolkata, Ben Stokes finally has his T20 redemption. He also etched his name in history with unbeaten half-centu📖ries in consecutive World Cup victories for England. Stokes played an undefeated 52 off 49 balls to guide England to a 5-wicket win.
Chasing the paltry target of 138, England were indeed in a spot of bother after losing four wickets for 84, but Stokes and Moeen Ali (19)🗹 formed a match-winning 48 runs partnership to take the game away from Pakistan.
Earlier, England bowled with complete discipline and restricted Pakistan to 137/8 in their allotted 20 overs. Sam Curran, Adil Rashid and Chris Jordan shined with the bal♋l and kept the pressure on Pakistan batters.
Curran picked up the maximum three wickets for just 12 runs in his quota of 4 overs. Similarly, Rashid bagged a couple for 22 and Jordan took two scalps for 27. For the Men in Green, Shan Masood with 38 off 28 was the top run-scorer.
