Suryakumar has long been hailed as the new 360-degree player in world cricket while being compared with the former South Africa captain AB de Villiers. On Sunday, after his carnage against the Chevrons, SKY responded to tꦐhe comparison and what followed was a heart-winning reply from De Villiers himself.
“There is only one 360-degree player in the world, and I will try to play like him,” said Suryakumar when ex-India pacer Irfan Pathan quizzed hꦜim about his comparison with ABD.

Suryakumar has been in blistering form in T20Is for India this year. Coming into the 2022 T20 World Cup in Australia, he was his team’s leading run-scorer in the shortest format and has lived up to the expectations in the marquee event. He recently completed 1,000 runs in T20Is in 2022 and became only the second batter after Pakistan’s Mohammad Rizwan to achieve the landmark.
