In the opening game of the T20 tri-series in New Zealand, Pakistan defeated Bangladesh by 21 runs at Hagley Oval in Christchurch on Friday.
Put in to bat, Pakistan managed to post 167/5 in their 20 overs, thanks to their crisis man Mohammad Rizwan, who once again held his guard while wickets were falling at ot🐽her ends.
Rizwan formed important partnerships with other batters to keep the scoreboard tickling. The wicketkeeper-batter added 52 runs for the opening wicket with captain Babar Azam (22) and 42 runs for the first wicket with Shan Masood (31). Rizwan st🐓ayed unbeaten at 78 from 50 deliveries with the help of seven fours and a cou🍸ple of sixes.
In response, Bangladesh could only manage to reach 146/8, losing the contest by 21 runs. Mohammad Wasim Jr꧙ was the pick of the bowler for Pakistan, taking three wickets while conceding 24 runs in his quota of 4 overs.
Mohammad Nawaz also bagged a couple of scalps for 30 runs in 4 overs. For Bangladesh🔯, Yasir Ali top-scored with 42 from 21 deliveries with the help of f𒁏ive fours and two sixes.
