In a thrilling contest which went down to the wire, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) defeated Namibia to knock📖 them out of the oꦑngoing T20 World Cup 2022.
Chasing 149 for victory at Simonds Stadium in Geelong, Namibia were almost out of the game after losing seven wickets for just 69, but their star-allrounder David Wiese yet again stood🍌 up and bailed his team out to take the contest🐼 to the last over.
Wiese stitched a stunning 70-run partnership for the eighth wicket with Ruben Trumpelmann and Namibia were looking set to pull off a thrilling victory. But with Wiese’s dismissal in the final over, Namibia lost the match by seven runs. Wiese had to depart after playing a brilliant knock of 55 from 36 deliveries.
Earlier, Muhammad Waseem powered UAE to a competitive 148/3 in theirܫ allotted 20 overs. The opening batter smashed a brilliant half-century, scoring 50 off 🐷41 deliveries with the help of three sixes and a four.
Apart from Waseem, captain Chundangapoyil Rizwan (43 not out) and Basil Hameed (25 not out) chipped in with valuabꦦle contributions, making sure their side cross the 140-run mark.

On one hand, happy for the Netherlands they have progressed. But you feel bad forܫ especially Wiese. That was a a superlative h꧋and.
I thought Zaheer and Waseemꦺ bowled really well by usඣing some cross-seam. There was certainly some dew.

The last few minutes of David Wiese on camera need to played out again with a suita🌼ble sound🍃track. That incredible raw emotion of sport. Quite nothing like it

Oof. Brilliant effort at the death by UAE earns them the win but impossible not to feel for David Wiese after thatꦉ innings. This week is kicking me in *all* the feels.

Namibia twice in this tournament had to pull back in innings from the edge of a cliff. They managed it against Sri Lanka, but couldn't do it against UAE.
That tail should be given some sort of medal of honour from their goღvernment. The🌱y gave everything, with bat & ball.

Don't think Associate cricket has ever had a better advert than this week.
All teams have brought a lot – and won at least one game; no side has been undefeated; cricket has been cutthroat and of good quality.
It has been a great advert for the 20𓆉-team World Cup coming in 2024

Remarkable game. Narrative of this week in Geelong has been class, but Namibia battering the Asia Cup champions in the fir🎃st game, then falling three metres short against UAE in the last, ✤sums it up.
SL into Eng/NZ/Afg/Aus group, Netherlands into Indཧ/Pak/SA/Ban.
