New Zealand thrashed Pakistan in the fourth game of the ongoing T20I Tri-Series 2022ꦫ at Hagley Oval in Christchurch on Tuesday.
Batting first, the Men in Green were restricted to 130/7 in their allotted 20 overs, thanks to disciplined bowling by the Black Caps. Tim Southee (2/31), Mitchell Santner (2/27) and Michael Bracewell (2/11) all picked up two wickets each, while Ish Sodhi bagged one scalp for 23 in 4 overs.
Valuable contributions down the order from Iftikhar Ahmed and Asif Ali pushed Pakistan towards 130. Ifthikhar smashed 27 with the help of three boundaries, whilℱe Asif remained unbeaten for 25 from 20 deliveries, including three fours.
In response, the hosts gunned down the target in 16.1 overs with nine wickets in hand. Finn Allen and Devon Conway dominated th𝄹e proceedings as they added 117 runs for the opening wicket.
Allen smashed a brilliant 62 from 42 deliveries, in🔯cluding one four and 6 sixes. Conway also chipped in with an unbeaten 49, with the help of five boundaries, to help New Zealand beat Pakistan and acquire the top spot in the points table.
