Team India’s latest pace sensation Avesh Khan had a memorable outing in the recently-concluded fourth T20I against West Ind♒ies at Central Broward Regional Park Stadium Turf Ground in Lauderhill, Florida on Sa🅷turday.
Avesh rediscovered his lost mojo after being ineffective in the previous matches. He conceded only 17 runs in his quota of 4 overs and picked up a couple of wickets in India’s series-clinching win over the Caribbean side.
Notably, Avesh didn’t have a great start to his international career as he continued to bleed runs, putting questions on his ability as a fast bowler who happens to be a death specialist. The right-arm pacer had impressed one and all with his skills in the Indian Premier League (IPL) but the picture was different when he donned the prestigious India🌞 jersey.
Avesh had leaked 54 runs in six overs on his ODI debut in Port-of-Spain last month. He continued to give away runs in the T20I series as well against the West Indies. Avesh conceded 31 runs in 2.2 overs in the 🉐second game and ♉followed it with 47 runs in 3 overs in the third T20I.
But the Indian management kept their trust on Avesh and he repaid the faith by staging an impressive comeback. After the contest, which the tourists won by 59 runs, captain Rohit Sharma heaped praises on Avesh for his stunning bowling display. Rohit said the managemen🌳t always believed in Avesh’s abilities as a fast bowler and they wanted to try him more in order to raise his confidence.
“We do understand Avesh’s talent. Anyone can have one or two bad games, but we want to keep his skills in mind. We want to give boys enough game time in the middle. He used the conditions and his height really well, which was great to see,” said Rohit in the post-match presentation.
