Veteran England pacer Stuart Broad, who on Thursday became only the second bowler to take 100 Test wickets at the iconic Lord’s ground, continued to impress on Day 3 of the ongoing first Test against South Africa but this time with his fielding.
At the age of 36, Broad defied science and picked up a sensational catch to get rid of Proteas’ speedster Kagiso Rabada. It all happened during the 78th over of South Africa’s first innings bowled by pacer Matthew Potts. Potts bo😼wled a short delivery, and Rabada tr🗹ied to pull the ball over the mid-on fielder.
It appeared that the red leather would easily sail over Broad’s head, but the Nottinghamshire cricketer had some other plans. Broad made a huge leap in the air and extended his right hand to pluck the ball from one hand out of thin air. In the follow-through, he tumbled on the ground with Potts and England captain Ben Stokes rushed to celebrate the wicket with Broad.
