As the T20 World Cup 2022 is approaching, experts have started coming up with their analyses and predictions regarding what could be the combination of different teams for the multi💧-team event.
Recently, former India cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar had named his spin options for🍌 Team I꧃ndia for the 20-over tournament, which is set to take place in Australia from October 16 to November 13.
Following the bandwagon, former India head coach Ravi Shastri has shared his thoughts in the context of the pace-bowing combination of the ‘Men♔ in Blue’. Shastri has picked three main seam bowlers along with one all-round pacer and a young speedster as his picks for the upcoming T20 World Cup.
Shastri named Jasprit Bumrah and Bhuvneshwar Kumar as certain picks for the global event. He went with Hardik Pandya as all-rounder and Mohammed Shami as another pacer. The Mumbaikar also picked youngster Arshdeep Singh, who will bring varaiety to the pace attack.
Shastri reckoned that Arshdeep✱ will benefit from the bounce and angle he creates in Australia, which would be ideal for the Indian attack.
“Me toh lunga usko. Me variety ke liye lunga aur jisko baithna hoga bahar woh baith sakte he (I will keep him for variety regardless of who sits out). In Australia, left-armers normally do a good job. There is bounce and the angle that he [Arshdeep Singh] creates. He will be an ideal foil when you look at the Indian attack,” said Shastri while speaking to Fan Code.
“If there are four pacers picked there, I would pick three right-armers, one left-armer and one all-rounder, which is Hardik Pandya. Jasprit (Bumrah) and Bhuvi (Bhuvneshwar Kumar) are certainties, and I feel (Mohammed) Shami will get the nod,” added Shastri.
