South Africa’s batting sensation Rassie van der Dussen on Saturday was ruled out of the third and final Test against England due to a fracture to his left index finger. The South African cricketer sustained the injury while fielding on Day 1 of the recently-concluded second Test against England in Manchester.
Notably, Van der Dussen put up a brave fight alongside Keegan Petersen o🗹n the third day at Old Trafford but was dismisse🐭d by Ben Stokes after tea as the hosts cruised to an innings win. The 33-year-old will require consultation with a finger specialist to decide further course of action for the injury.
The tourists have named all-rounder Wiaan Mulder as Van der Dussen’s replacement for the third Test beginning on September 8 at the Kia Oval in London. After the loss in the second Test, South Africa have fallen from the top of the standings at ICC World Test Championship.
