England’s bowling unit was right on the money on Friday as they bowled out South Africa for a mere 89 to register a thumping 118-runs victory in the second ODI held at Emirates Old Trafford in Manchester.
The hosts, after being asked to bat first in the contest, which was reduced to 29 overs per side due to rain, posted 201 on the board in 28.1 overs. Sam Curran and Liam Livingstone made valuable contributions𝔉 down tꦓhe order to help England reach a competitive total.
While Curran smashed 35 off 18 with two fours and three sixes, Livingstone scored 38 from 26, including one four and three maximums. Dwaine Pretorius was the pick of the bowlers for South Africa, taking a fou🔴r-wicket haul for 36 runs in six overs.
In response, the tourists were steamrolled by a top-quality bowling display from the English side. Adil Rashid (3-29), Reece Topley (2-17) and Moeen Ali (2-22) didn’t give any chance to the Proteas batters as they were eventually bundled out for 83, losing the contest by 118 runs.

What a difference a game makes! Pretty convincing win in the end for England, taking all 10 wickets before the downpour sets. Victory by 118 runs. That too in a 29 over a side game. And there we were worried about all the runs they possibly left out in the middle… 😏
