The International Cricket Council (ICC), on Tuesday, unveiled the details of upcoming ICC events, which include the Women’s white-ball World Cups and the final of the next two World Test Championship (WTC) finals.

The ICC, in the annual conference in Birmingham, announced that four women’s tournaments will take place in four years, beginning with the Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 in Bangladesh.

Notably, this will be the first time that Bangladesh will be hosting a major ICC women’s tournament. The competition will take place in September-October, comprising 10 teams.

A year later, the action will move to India for the Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025. It will be the fifth occasion when India will host an ICC Women’s tournament. As many as eight teams will compete in the event, featuring 31 matches.

The next major Women’s event is the T20 World Cup 2026, which England will host in June. For ♔this edition, the number of teams will also increase from 10 to 12.

The final event of the cycle is the inaugural edition of the Women’s ICC Champions Trophy, which will be based on the T20 format. The competition will be hosted by Sri Lanka, subject to qualifying for the tournament.

Coming to men’s cricket, the ICC has finalised Lord’s as the venue for the next two WTC finals in 2023 and 2025. Notably, the inaugural WTC final was held in Southampton in 2021 when New Zealand had defeated India. However, that match was originally scheduled for Lord’s as well but had to be moved due to Covid-19 restrictions at that time.
