Amid the criticism from all corners regarding his poor patch with the bat, Indian superstar Virat Kohli got support from his fellow generational talent and Pakistan skipper Babar Azam. Kohli, who missed the opening ODI of the ongoing series against England due to a groin injury, returned in the second ODI but only scored 16 runs as his side lost the contest by 100 runs.
After another disappointing show with the bat, Kohli has now gone 77 consecutive international innings without reaching a triple-figure score. The Delhi-lad is also facing criticism after he was rested from India’s T20I squad for the upcoming tour of the West Indies.
As the T20 World Cup is approaching, questions have been raised over Kohli’s place in the team by fans and former legends. However, Pakistan skipper Babar has extended his support to Kohli via social media. Babar took to Twitter on Thursday and shared a photo with Kohli with a caption: “This too shall pass, stay strong.”

After his tweet on the former India captain went viral on the internet, Babar revealed the reasons behind it, stating it was to show support for Kohli, who is one of the ‘best players.’
“As a player myself, I know you can go through such a phase (out of form), and I also know what a player goes through in such a phase. In those times, you need support. I just tweeted thinking that it will give just some support. He is one of the best players,” said Babar during a press conference ahead of Pakistan’s first Test against Sri Lanka in Galle.
