In a rain-affected clash, England cruised to a six-wicket victory chasing down the target successfully against the Netherlands in the second ODI of the ongoing three-match series. Openers Jason Roy and Phil Salt took Dutch bowlers to the cleaners, forming a dominating opening stand of 139 runs to take꧃ the game away from the hos♌ts.
Salt continued his good form from the first game, scoring 77 off 54 balls with the help of☂ nine bounda✃ries. Similarly, Roy also shined with the bat, hitting 73 from 60 deliveries, including 13 fours and a six.
After the departure of Roy, England lost three quick wickets in the form of Salt, captain Eoin Morgan and all-rounder Liam Livingstone, but Dawid Malan (36 no) and Moeen Ali (42 no) kept thi꧑ngs under control and ꧂took England over the finish line in the 37th over.
Earlier, the Netherlands posted 235/7 in their allotted 41 overs (Match was reduced to 41 overs per side due to wet outfield). Captain Scott Edwards led from the front, smashing a brilliant 78 off 73 balls, including 4 fours and 3 sixes, before an unfortunate run-out cut short his stay in the middle. For the visitors, David Willey (2/46) and Adil Rashid (2/50) picked up two wickets each.
